How to stretch your holiday dollar

Can you believe that there are only 6 more weekends until Christmas? I always notice each year the media and stores start pushing holiday shopping down our throats sooner and sooner. Before I was even able to wash off the Halloween makeup from my daughter, I started seeing commercials for Christmas. Personally I like to wait a bit longer, at least until Thanksgiving. But this year my budget needs to stretch a bit more so I've secretly already started my shopping. Here are a list of ways (or reminders for some) you can save or stretch your money for the holidays.  Also check out the latest deals from ChromaTan.

1. Create a holiday budget - Make a list of the people that you are buying gifts for this year. Next to their name, enter the dollar amount you will be spending on that person and then stick to it.
